Synology's DX1215 12-Bay Expansion Unit provides volume expansion and data backup for the following Synology DiskStation servers: DS3615xs, DS3612xs, DS3611xs, DS311xs, and DS2413+. Convert and play 4K videos from most laptops, mobile devices, and other media players that don't support Ultra HD resolutions can be converted and played 4K videos from most DS218, Video Station, and other media players that don't support Ultra HD formats using the integrated 4K multimedia server on the DS218, Video Station and DS video. The DS218 runs on Synology DiskStation Manager OS, which is a browser-based operating system that helps with managing your Synology NAS. If you've installed Synology High Availability or a CMS failover server, there's no need to purchase additional license keys for the failover server, since the licenses will be automatically converted to the failover server if desired.
Only one license per camera is needed for most fixed lens cameras that are shooting more than one stream at a time, and most fixed lens cameras that are producing more than one stream at a time only need one license per camera. Synology also offers three options for additional purchased licenses: 1, 4 or 8 Surveillance Device License Packs each comes with a single license key, allowing you to operate 1, 4 or 8 surveillance devices at once.
On Synology Surveillance Station, the camera, I/O module, and access controllers are all designed for expanding camera, I/O module, and access controllers.
